    Step to manufacturing Bullet Proof Helmet molds:

    1). placing a flat stack of pre-heated 0/90 fabric layers impregnated with at least one resin on a hydroforming blank holding ring of a hydroforming press, wherein the flat stack of pre-heated fabric layers is preheated to between 150° F. to 200° F.;
    2). closing the hydroforming press to bring a flexible rubber diaphragm against a top of the flat stack of impregnated 0/90 fabric layers;
    3). pressurizing a forming chamber behind the flexible rubber diaphragm with a hydraulic oil to about 800-1500 psi;
    4). raising the punch having a predefined shape and dimensions of an inside of a helmet from the bottom portion of the hydroforming press against a bottom of the flat stack of pre-heated 0/90 fabric layers and up against the flexible rubber diaphragm and into the forming chamber to a predetermined punch height;
    5). holding the punch in the raised position to form and consolidate a helmet preform with no overlaps, no seams, no cuts and a controlled orientation of the fibers;
    6). lowering the punch back into the bottom portion of the hydroforming press;
    7). opening the hydroforming press; 
    8). removing the helmet preform.

    Compression molding is a method of molding in which the molding material, generally preheated, is first placed in an open, heated mold cavity. The mold is closed with a top force or plug member, pressure is applied to force the material into contact with all mold areas, while heat and pressure are maintained until the molding material has cured.

It has high wear resistance, low friction coefficient, high impact resistance, and better sound-absorbing performance. Compared with ordinary thermoplastics, it has lower fluidity and is difficult to process. At present, it can only be produced by molding. Our company cooperated with the *** unit, using its good impact resistance, developed the body armor and bulletproof helmet molds, realized segmented pressurization and heating on a pair of molds, and switched the heating mold to cooling in the later stage of molding. The mold ensures that the product is cooled and shaped to the set temperature and set material hardness, ensuring that the product can be easily taken out of the mold.
